To celebrate the holiday, today’s Google homepage includes a Thanksgiving themed logo complete with a banjo-playing fox, a dancing turkey and slew of forest animals building their very own vegetarian holiday meal.
Clicking the play button in the middle of the logo starts a brief interactive image of forest creatures scrambling through the woods, each carrying a portion of their Thanksgiving day feast.
Banjo music plays as the animals collect pies, an ear of corn, squash and a pumpkin. Midway through, the music halts just before the fox delivers a banjo solo while the racoons, mice, turkey and bear dance along.
The interactive image includes fast-forward, rewind and pause controls, along with a mute button. The share icon beside the logo lets users post a link to the interactive image on their Google+, Facebook and Twitter pages along with the message “I’m #thankful for…”, while the search icon takes users to a results page for Thanksgiving 2013.
The music is a lovely compliment to the overall artistry of the logo, and definitely worth, a least, one listen. Search Engine Land wishes you and your crew a Happy Thanksgiving!
