Google announced last week<\/a> that it rolled out an update to the local search and map pack results. It began on November 30 and finished on December 8.<\/p>\n We noticed really dramatic differences in ranking on December 6, 2021. My agency named the update “The Vicinity Update<\/a>” because the most significant impact we saw was that Google made it so that smaller, less established businesses that are closer to the user are now ranking better than overpowered businesses further away.
