European Consumer Rights Group Joins Others In Opposition Of DoubleClick Acquisition

Consumer group hits at Google $3bn move from the Financial Times reports a large European consumers rights group, Beuc, has joined with others that oppose Google’s proposed acquisition of DoubleClick.


Jim Murray, director of Beuc, sent a letter to the European Union saying the deal “may have a negative impact on the selection of online content available to consumers and on privacy.” Beuc added concern that consumers “would have no real ability to choose services other than those served by Google.”
